Blessed

Corbett was blessed in my parents'
ward on September 2, 2012.

Before church, Jake took Corbett
on a walk around the neighborhood
to prepare and collect his thoughts,
which I thought was sweet.

The blessing was beautiful,
comprehensive, and very thoughtful.
Corbett surprised us all by not crying or fussing.
It helped that Jake held him upright instead of
horizontal, and my dad may have kept
his eyes open to smile at Corbett
and keep him distracted.
Whatever works!

After church, we gathered at my parents'
house to visit, eat, and take pictures.

As you can see,
Corbett was the star of the show!

Swiss Days

I went to Swiss Days regularly when I
was growing up, but haven't been in years.
It has turned into quite a big event, and it was fun
to go with Jake and Corbett for their first time.

We made our way through the booths
and bought a blessing outfit for Corbett
and some cool Dowdle puzzles.

We watched a little ceremony in which
my grandparents were presented as
Midway's "Honored Citizens" of 2012.

Don't they look sharp?

We ate Swiss tacos (yummy).
We chuckled at Adam's resemblance to Abe Lincoln.

We spotted Elder Uchtdorf in street clothes
and Corbett got to shake his hand.

And of course we snapped lots of pictures.

After the festivities, I got to visit with my
friend Lisa, who lives in Midway.

And then we spent some time with
Grandma and Grandpa Clegg at their home.

Jake even got to ride my grandpa's old dirt bike
(a little different than what Jake's used to).

We had a fun and relaxing day.
Isn't Midway beautiful?

Family Walk

We love visiting Utah.
I especially love the fresh mountain air
and the beautiful views of the Salt Lake valley.
We enjoyed both of these things on a
family walk last week.
