Utah Highlight Reel

We had an opportunity of a lifetime
this summer when Jake was allowed to do
an away rotation at Primary Children's
Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

He worked in the Emergency Department
and had a great experience, not to mention an
awesome schedule. We stayed with my family,
and I loved spending time with them and
having so much help with Corbett.

I've already blogged about some of
our adventures, and I documented most of
our trip in this album on Facebook.

Here are some other notable highlights
(although not at all an exhaustive list):

Corbett's cousins were
so excited to meet him.

Jake finally took me
on a motorcycle ride.

Twice!

We went swimming.

Jake spent some quality time
with his dad, Don.

We helped Uncle Dave
buy a new car.

Corbett learned to roll.

We enjoyed the great outdoors.

We caught up with friends from
Orlando who now live in Utah.

We dominated at
game night with friends...

...despite what the opposing
team would tell you.

And although I hate to mention it,
Jake was ecstatic to be at this epic
(and unbelievable) BYU-Utah game.

What a trip.

In short, we took advantage of
all that Utah has to offer, and we look
forward to returning again soon!

Poulter Stupid Human Tricks

It started off with Dallin catching
puffs of whip cream in his mouth.

Then came requests for Andrew's
water bottle trick (he can empty
one in about 3 seconds!).

It made us wonder what other
"stupid human tricks" the Poulter
family had up our sleeves.

Jake showed off his juggling skills.

Craig wowed us with his muscles.

Cameron has all sorts of
body contortions.

Cade made us laugh with his
fried egg impression.

A crowd favorite was definitely
watching Dallin eat a bowl of cereal
out of the "hole" in his chest.

All I could come up with was
making a snake with my hands.

Corbett wanted to contribute too,
so he managed to conjure up a blowout
that went through his diaper, his clothes,
his blanket, and on to Grandma's lap!

She was sweet and didn't mind.

After everyone else went to bed,
Adam, Dallin and Jake stayed up
and discovered some fun tricks
involving the camera and a laser.

There is always fun
in the Poulter home.

Hogle Zoo

I've been to Hogle Zoo many times,
but this was definitely the nicest I have ever
seen it. We enjoyed the renovations and all of
the animals that were out and about.

This little monkey had a great time.

Monkey Butts!

If their fathers' friendship is
any indication, then these two kiddos
are destined to be buddies.

We got together while in Utah and
took a LOT of pictures of these two.

My favorites are the babies
in their matching monkey outfits.

 Monkey butts!

They were both learning to roll, and
were so clever to roll away from each other.

We're excited for baby Andrew and the
rest of his family to come visit next month.

Expect more pictures.  :)

Andy + Brittany

After 9 years of dating,
these two lovebirds finally got hitched.

Once again, Corbett was not
too thrilled about getting dressed up
and going to a wedding.

But he perked up after a little food.

Don't the Deines boys look dapper?

I loved the bow tie and suspenders theme.
The wedding was at Noah's and
everything was so beautiful.

Congratulations
Uncle Andeets and Aunt Brittles!

Grandma Claudia's Epic Year

2012 has been quite a year for Jake's mom.

In May, she became a grandma.

In June, she turned 60.

In July, she bought a brand new
Mustang Convertible.

In August, she retired after working
for 30 years as a nutritionist at the
University of Utah Hospital.

The very next week, she got married!

The wedding was lovely and we were
glad the timing worked out for us to be there.

We are very happy for Claudia and for
all of the good things in her life right now.

(Some of us happier than others)
